Greetings, on air podcast " Antique Toy " about music created for 8 digit computers ZX Spectrum and I, - its leader - Siril/4D . In the end of release the small announcement and a correction of mistakes.

In podcast music for a spectrum I will mean beeper music, chip music (that is created for the sound coprocessor of the CHIP AY-8910/12 (or YM2149 ) and exotic enough for Speccy digital music.

In this first release I will tell to you about various embodiments of such style "live" (that is not chip music) as breakbeat.

Breakbeat (English breakbeat — a broken rhythm) — the term uniting under self the whole class of genres of electronic music on the basis of drum-type party with a broken rhythm, or directly these drum-type parties. «brokens» a rhythm it is reached for the account of displacement of strong shares of a step on weak or for the account of a simultaneous combination of two and more independent rhythms (polyrhythmya). Breakbeat can have as regular structure, that is the same rhythmic drawing (break), and irregular with a combination of different rhythmic drawings is constantly used. Usually breaks sampled from old records funk and a disco or are created by drum-mashines.

Complexity of an embodiment breakbeat on a spectrum consists in that that characteristic for breakbeat a deep bass difficult to receive traditional methods, masterly possession of the generator bending around is required and tone, also are necessary realistic samples drummers. I mean the tone generator by a traditional method of reception of a low-frequency sound. The matter is that, the tone generator forms a sound of a squared shape which sounds chilly enough and is uninteresting and completely not similar to that bass which uses in breakbeat and other genres of electronic music. Therefore for reception of a juicy bass usually use the generator bending around which gives out a triangular signal, more interestingly but all the same not just as a bass in "live" breakbeat.

As there is an interesting reception, this combination of the generator bending around and tone in one channel when frequencies at them differ several times, that is are multiple each other. It gives artful, sawtooth, changing in time the signal form, the sound "flanger" similar to effect is gained.

The Slovak musician Baze from group 3SC was the First musician on a spectrum which used it for a writing beautiful and realistic breakbeat, that is practically the first breakbeat on a spectrum. For the first time its music has got to me as a part of a demo Insane , exposed not demoparty Demobit ' 96 . As other track Baze is interesting, written for a demo Higher State which has been exposed on demoparty Doxycon ' 98 and has won first place.

the following musician who has paid the attention on Breakbeat was Sairoos from Group Eternity Industry . Style of Sairoos strikingly differs from style Baze , It is visible that it was formed independently though, with the big share of probability it is possible to assert that Sairoos was a sign with creativity Baze .

There is also one more nice embodiment breakbeat , it is obliged by the birth to my acquaintance with Baze on IRC - the channel #z80 , networks IRCnet . It was very interesting to me to look as music which is arranged did Baze and I have convinced him to send the not released sketches. That to understand the technician and, probably, independently to let out something similar. The track " I've seen my future face " which became subsequently result of it has been exposed on demoparty Chaos Construction ' 2001 . In this track very strongly influence Baze , its style that it is no wonder. Having analysed and having understood the technician, I have written this music.
